I'm a vegetarian but I sometimes eat stew or something that contains meat..?

Nope. Not considered a vegetarian meal. You are still eating meat juices which is most likely blood, or fat (which was once a living animal). I'd just abstain from eating the 'stew' and make something else for dinner instead.
