My mom has menopause does it effect me?

my mom is in the process of menopause. she didnt have a period for 11 months. then all of a sudden she got one.. now usually when woman live together their periods come at the same time. i havent got my period in 3 months.. (i took 3 pee tests all negative for pregnancy) would her not having a period affect me not having a period..
